Tailgating supplies can be many or few depending upon what you have in mind to celebrate your favorite team's game. For many such an event is worthy of a unique and powerful celebration, for others it's a pre-meal before the game. Depending upon where you're at in that spectrum will determine what you need. Regardless, there are a few essentials that are necessary to real make your parking lot party kick off.

First and foremost, you'll need a grill. There are a couple different options here. There are, of course, classic charcoal grills. These provide a good smoky flavor and smell great. However, they are very messy and may not be allowed at some locations. An alternative is a gas grill. These can be found in various sizes, including smaller portable ones used for camping, which have easily removable gas canisters to take up less space during transport.

Next, because you're most likely dealing with raw meat, you'll need a cooler. And not just one that keeps the heat out, you'll need one that maintains a temperature below 40 degrees in order to prevent any possible food poisoning. The usual choice for many is the Styrofoam models filled with ice, but if you plan on getting out to the stadium often, it's worth it to invest in a heft cooler that can handle being used often. These also seal tightly to keep cold air in and won't crack like cheap models.

Finally, you'll need food, but that is entirely at your discretion and the most fun part.
