Tailgate Grill
A tailgate grill is the heart of any tailgating experience. Without it, you're looking at cold food and the event becomes just a picnic in the parking lot. With this in mind, you have to know that you can't just use any model that you want. There's a lot to consider, not the least of which is transportation, size, and cooking power as well as safety and cost. Simply put, you cannot use just any old grill, especially a home model for heading out on game day.
For starters, you'll need something you can move around in your vehicle easily. For anyone with a big truck, this may be no problem whatsoever, but getting it in and out may pose a safety hazard. Furthermore, once you get to the parking lot, you have to remember that you're in a parking lot. It isn't a camping space, so you don't have a lot of room to set up a gigantic unit.
Next, you'll probably want a gas model as opposed to a charcoal unit. Sure, charcoal has a great flavor, but for one it may not be allowed at any stadium and two, these models are quite a mess to clean up. This doesn't just mean the space you park in. It also means when you transport it, the model may be sending ash everywhere.
So a portable gas model that has an easily detachable tank is the best choice. These can be found in a great variety of sizes and with different features such as stands and side burners to help you get the food you want cooked on the big day.
