Picnic Games

Picnic games are as much a part of picnicking as the food. If you have a large group this can mean a whole lot of fun activities to try out and enjoy, but even if you are in a small group, you still can have a lot of fun together many ones to choose from.

For groups large enough to form teams there are plenty of traditional sports to enjoy. This can include flag football, baseball, softball, and if there are facilities activities like basketball. It may not be for everyone, but these activities also will provide entertainment to those on the side lines. Other less organized games like the water balloon toss or the egg balance are also fun activities for a large group, especially when you keep score and see if there's a champion. Of course, you don't even have to do this.

For smaller parties, paddle ball has been an easy to transport and fun activity for many. Along the same lines, and with a bit more equipment involved, badminton can be an active, but not too intense of a game to enjoy together. Croquet is also a classic and the kits for this game are relatively easy to move around. For all of the above, no special areas are needed, just a patch of grass or beach to set yourselves up in.

Of course, you could always be inventive and find a way to change or adapt a classic game to your environment in a new way. Who knows, you may find a game you play for years.
