Picnic Food
When the weather turns nice and you look outside and think you'd like to have a nice al fresco meal, go camping, or head down to the beach, one thought that will probably cross your mind is - what is good picnic food? It's not an easy question to answer, because quite frankly you can try to bring anything to eat when you go picnicking. However, there are many foods that are a bit more convenient than others without having to go and just get pre-packaged food.
First, think cold foods. While the idea of enjoying the same meals outside as you do inside as outside makes the most sense, this isn't the best idea. You have the risk first of your food dropping to a temperature too low to enjoy in the first place, but more importantly you run the risk of possibly giving yourself food poisoning especially from products with eggs. This includes dressings and anything with mayonnaise in it. These foods are fine to enjoy, just as long as they are kept cold.
Second, think of foods that are small and compact. This not only helps you get around, but it also lets you enjoy a variety of flavors besides something like cold chicken, which although filling, may not be the most tasty after a few bites. Some good ideas are items like cured meats, cheeses, fruits, or cuts of meat with a strong sauce. Nothing beats a nice baguette either.
But most of all, just bring what you like regardless of making an impressive spread.
