Picnic Blanket

Once in the past, a picnic blanket was just another blanket. Maybe from the couch or even a bed, it probably wasn't too special and just served the function of enjoying a nice picnic. However, these days the markets and demands of people have spoken and now there are hundreds of styles and models that area all designed for easy transportation, durability, and comfort. It may seem like a lot of effort and price for such a small detail to a picnic, but once you try one out, you'll see the difference.

The biggest revolution, if it can be so called, is the advent of cases and straps for your sheet. These come in a few forms. The simplest is a model that simply just rolls up and can be incased with Velcro straps with an over-the-shoulder strap as well. These are easy to use and easy to carry along. There are also models that fold up into an almost briefcase design. These end up flat when folded so they are much easier to store and move around with then a thick cylinder of a rolled-up model. These models also feature shoulder straps and hand straps for ease of transportation.

Aside from the simplicity of packing a sometimes large sheet up, newer models also have the benefit of a waterproof underside. While you'll probably never picnic in the rain, with weight pressed on the ground, a seemingly dry spot of grass can suddenly become damp. These units prevent this problem and keep you dry. Additionally, your blanket stays dry as well.
