Party Cooler

A party cooler is the hub of any event. It holds the food, the drinks, and most people stake out a spot nearby. For picnicking, tailgating, or whatever the event, you'll want a unit that can handle being repeatedly opened and closed and can still keep the temperature low enough to keep meats and drinks chilled.

The best choice for this is to use an ice chest. These units are filled with ice prior to the party and whatever food and drinks are stacked inside. This will keep the interior nice and chilled for a very long time. It can of course easily be replenished if need as well. Afterwards, the excess water and ice can easily be drained off. These models are superior to insulated units because they can actually keep the contents cold rather than just maintaining their temperature when they were put inside. Furthermore, with the unit being repeatedly open and closed, hot air will seep in and pretty much destroy whatever chill was inside the unit. Additionally, the hard plastic of ice chests is needed to stand up to the wear and tear of guests constantly touching and bumping the unit. An insulated model will require a bit more delicacy.

It's a good idea to have two separate units when holding a get together - one for food and the other for drinks. This is especially important if any raw meat is involved to prevent any possible food poisoning. Likewise, food spoils faster than drinks, so it's best to prevent as much as possible any unnecessary exposure to hot air.
