Padded folding chairs are a great comfort that you can take outdoors. These come in a few different forms, both of which have the same result - making you comfortable and easy the burden on your back and bottom. There are basically two different forms - models with padding already built in and those that have it as a detachable padding. You can also find additions that you can purchase separately to pad a non-padded model. Whichever model you choose will largely depend on how you plan on using the unit.

Padding is great, but it is extra weight and takes up extra space. For any person taking a trip, picnicking, or camping for example space and weight are at a premium. A model with padding already built in can be a huge inconvenience despite the fact that it folds up when you're done using it. The folding reduction will be less severe because of the padding, so it will take up more space than a non-padded version. For these situations, it's good to use a model that has removable pieces that can be packed alongside the unit itself to conserve space. This will make transporting the unit to it's location a bit easier, although it necessitate more than one trip.

At home, padding can be a bit more excessive. Since you are probably only going to move this item from storage to your lawn, it really doesn't need to be all that transportable as if you were traveling. So go to town on padding, but keep in mind that if you do use a model like this, that when winter and fall arrive, you'll need to take extra care to store it away safely as the padding can easily become damaged by water.
