Ice Coolers

Ice coolers are the old standard for chilling your food when you head out on a culinary adventure outdoors. Whether you go picnicking, camping, tailgating, or whatever, you'll definitely appreciate having one of these units around. What makes these so special and different from other models? Well, these aren't really that special. They are a pretty straightforward device that keeps cool in and hot air out. Insulated fabrics found on picnic baskets and totes do the same thing, however with these models you can actually get cold air in the unit simply dumping ice into it. These models are made to get wet and most have a convenient drain spout to let off excess water and to clean it.

There are a few benefits to these models over others and a few drawbacks. The most obvious benefit is that you can really control the temperature. You can keep frozen foods and other foods like raw meat at a safe handling temperature to prevent spoilage and food poisoning. These are sturdy cases that will protect your food as you move it around. Additionally, you can use these as a makeshift table or seat as well.

The major drawback is that these items are often very large and heavy. This makes them very awkward to carry. Their heavy weight with food and ice can be difficult to move over some terrain and can cause injury if not probably carried.

However, there are options such as finding a model with wheels to lower the amount of stress needed move these around.
