Folding Beach Chairs

Near the ocean, a lake, or a river is a great place to have a picnic, simply sit and read, or just do nothing but watch the water. Unfortunately, the shore isn't always made for sitting. In fact, it can be downright painful after a few hours of sitting on the sand, which of course seeps into your clothes. Alternatively, you can bring a seat with you that will be comfortable and light as there are many models of folding beach chairs available.

The most common is the simple model that folds flat on itself. These models are light and transportable and provide a good surface to sit on for any extended period. It's important for the shore environment to make sure you have a thick fabric that won't hold onto water and sand, otherwise you'll be find sand in your vehicle and home for months.

Another option is the upward collapsible model. These models squeeze in when they fold, so they end up as a long thick set of poles rather than a flat unit. This is easier to carry as most come with a convenient bag to carry over your shoulder. Additionally, many of these models can separate from their fabric so that you can wash them when needed.

A final option is a chair without legs. These are simply seats and backs, which will avoid the annoying backaches after sitting for long periods, but you'll still get the feel of sand underneath. They are very light and easy to carry around, most fitting into a backpack with no trouble.
