Family Picnic

A family picnic is just part of being together during the warm Summer and Spring months when not only is the air warm, but there is plenty of great fruits and veggies that are fresh from the farm. These are perhaps the easiest to organize and setup for, because as a parent or other family member, you know your family. Best of all, it's a fantastic way to bond over good moments spent together.

Now, of course it may be easy enough to get everyone in the car and just trump off to the nearest park, it's also a good idea to make an entire day out of the event. There are probably many parks and camping areas as well as beaches in your area that you don't frequent often and picnicking is a great excuse to jump into a new place that you may have never had the chance to visit.

Regardless of where you go and even though it's in the most casual of settings, it's good to plan ahead so that you can enjoy good food and have some fun while you're out. If you're planning on barbecuing, have a few activities lined up while the grill heats up so that no one is sitting and waiting for food. This can be Frisbee or catch, and if you've got a bigger family, something like a baseball or flag football game. It's also good to have snacks on hand especially fresh veggies and fruit since they are often so fresh in the warmer months.
