Coolers On Wheels

Coolers on wheels are an extremely practical solution to a normally inconvenient problem facing many people heading out for picnics, tailgating, or camping. The cooler is probably the one piece of equipment that is probably the most necessary, but also the heaviest and biggest. Needless to say, it's a pain to move around. Crammed with food, drinks, and some times ice, a very light container can become heavy very fast. So once you get it out of the car, you're stuck hauling this heavy load that is also awkward to move around since it is usually a large rectangle or box, not very conducive to being carried.

Adding wheels is the simple solution. These models aren't an ice chest thrown on top of a Radio Flyer, however. These models come with usually a single set of wheels. They still lay flat and solid just like other models, but when tipped they will roll. Usually there is some strap or handlebar, which will allow you to guide the unit as you walk along. Many models come with especially large wheels with heavy traction, so these models can take some rough terrain.

You can find these in both plastic ice chest models as well as collapsible insulated bags. Each has their own particular benefits and drawbacks. Ice chests can keep more food at a much lower temperature for a longer period, but unfortunately they weigh quite a lot and take up a bit of space as well. Regardless of what you choose, the aim is essentially the same - keep your food cool, healthy, and delicious with out breaking your back to finally eat it.
