Church Picnic

A church picnic is a classic American tradition. Bringing together a great many members of the congregation can be an exciting way for members to get to know each other outside of service and meet others in the community that they may not see on different service days and the like. Aside from this it's a fun way to spend a summer day or evening in a positive place with good food.

Probably one of the most traditional aspects of such an event is to serve food potluck style. As there is a huge variety of backgrounds and traditions within a congregation, this tradition gives people a chance to give to others using their own sense of good food. Part of being in a congregation is to give to one's fellow members and this element to your picnic will allow people express their sense of gratitude.

As it is most likely, that the even will take place on church grounds, it makes set up and take down easy. However, if not or if the churches does not have an abundance of tables and tablecloths, many members would most likely be more than happy to donate for an afternoon or evening something that they have at home for the festivities.

Generally speaking, these events are easy to organize and congregation members are happy to help out in any way they can. With the weather nice in the Spring and Summer, and all the benefits involved in such a production, there's no reason not to. In fact, many members are probably looking forward to it.
