4th of July Picnic
A 4th of July picnic is perhaps the championship day for picnicking. Everyone is outside eating, lying around, or barbecuing. Of course the weather during this time of year is almost always excellent and there is no better day to set aside for picnicking because the night will be capped off with a wonderful firework display. How to make the most out of this once a year occasion?
As probably as many people as possible will be out in parks or any other public spaces that are good for picnicking, it is best to get a spot early. If you're planning a large group, not everyone has to show up early, but somebody will have to get up and make sure a place is saved for everyone. Because of this, you'll need to plan to have a enough food for the whole day and into the night as trips to the store will often be difficult or impossible when many of them are closed.
Plan on enjoying everything that's American as well. This means getting food for the night that will reflect the old classics of the American culinary scene such as cornbread, apple pie, and chicken. Of course a barbecue is the most traditional, but this may not be much of an option depending upon your location, however, if you can, be sure to take advantage of it. Also, even though it's hot during the day, make sure you have blankets to keep warm at night.
With these few tips in mind, you'll have a much more successful Independence Day celebration.
